Did you know that your body is a miniature ecosystem teeming with microscopic organisms? Or that the water you drink today was around when the pyramids were being built? It’s true! You Are the Earth shows us how we are connected to the Earth and why we all need clean air, water, soil, and the Sun’s energy to stay alive.
Read about kids who are working to make the world a better place and find out what you can do to help. Don’t forget to try the activities which include proving air is a physical substance not just empty space, seeing what makes summer hot and winter cold, and making a homemade cooker for heating up hot dogs on a summer day.

I think the book was very well designed. The topic was quite interesting, all about us and the Earth and how we are almost the same. I really liked reading all the myths and legends throughout the book.
I learned many things. Did you know that in almost anything that you eat, there is dirt and every time you breathe, you breathe in dinosaur breath? I enjoyed reading these and other funny facts. I tested out some of these facts with my friends when I took the book to school and they enjoyed it too.
I personally wouldn’t change anything about the book; it’s just great how it is. The book has numerous colour illustrations—drawings, cartoons, and photographs. I think this is an amazing book for kids aged 9 to 12 or even older. Out of 10, I’d give it a strong 9. If I had only one word to describe this book, it would be “terrific”. Get reading!
